It is an unfair question because it implies there is something wrong with you.

There is something wrong with all of us. None of us are perfect. So give yourself a break, don't be so judgemental, try to be more understanding. When you ask people to open up, you might not be happy what you find inside. That is a reason why, a lot of people do not want to open up.
