friends

skills of manipulation

lack of integrity

nassicism

appearance

nationality

confidence

the list goes on

some "good", some "bad" and some "unfair"

if your face doesn't fit for the powers to be you will be on a hopeless cause

if the powers that be "like" you for superficial or superfluous reasons

... that can be more than enough to be successful
